  Born in Athens, Greece.
 
 Studies in Paris, at the Faculte des Sciences, Mathematics-Chemistry and Physics, and in Stockholm,

 where he studied sociology of cinematography. Graduated from Ecole Nationale de la Cinematographie in Paris.
 
Director of photography in 46 feature films and several telefilms, as well as in various TV productions in France, Sweden, Germany, Lebanon,

the United States of America, and Greece. Stage lighting in more than 80 theatrical plays,

dance theatre performances, and operas in Greece.

 As lighting designer he has collaborated with outstanding composers, singers, and orchestras of the Greek music stage, such as:

S. Xarhakos, A. Protopsalti, E. Arvanitaki, E. Karaindrou, Orchestra of Colors, M. Hadjidakis Orchestra, M. Farandouri, H. Alexiou, and a long line of others.
 
Mr. Andreas Bellis has also designed the lighting for national and international events, such as Hanover Expo 2000, a string of TV shows (such as Movie Awards,

Theatrical Awards, New Year’s Eve Specials, Miss Greece, Miss Europe, Music Awards, Film Awards, etc.). He has received three prestigious awards

for his cinematography at the Thessalonica International Film Festival, and at the Chicago Film Festival.
 
In the year 2001 he won first prize in the category Best Cinematography at the Mediterranean Countries Film Festival in Cologne Germany.

The prize was awarded for the feature film “And the Train Goes To the Sky” by J. Ionnou.
